12 Beautiful Bathtubs Perfect for Relaxing

We feature a lot of great bathroom décor, but one thing that really ties the room together is a stylish and wonderful bathtub. These bathtubs are some of the most beautiful and wonderful designs you could ever hope to take a soak in.

Vascabarca

This limited-edition tub by Anne and Parick Poirier Antonio Lupi is made from one solid block of stone, which would be great when it comes to maintaining your water temperature as you soak. Only ten of these boat-shaped beauties were made and because they are so rare, they can even be personalized with your name on the stern.

Natural Stone

Stone doesn’t need to be carved into a boat shape to be an impressive bathtub. In fact, these Natural Stone Bathtubs from yourStoneBath show the inherent beauty of rock by living the sides unfinished, only polishing the bottom and inside of the stone to create a stunning tub that looks as natural as possible. Since each tub is carved from one large stone, each one is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Unfortunately, the company’s website is no longer active, so it’s possible you’ll have to go somewhere else if you want a bathtub that really rocks.

Laguna Basic

For those who prefer nature with a softer side, wood is the way to go and this beautiful Laguna Basic tub is a great way to add warm color and a modern feel into your bathroom. The customizable design is made by Alegna, who has years of experience building yachts. Unlike many of these unique designs, the exterior of the tub is a standard rectangular shape, so it will easily fit in most modern bathtubs without making too many major renovations.

Relax Like You're In the Park With The Borghese

We have already talked about why incorporating a little nature into your home design can bring a sense of serenity and relaxation into your space and thanks to designer Noe Duchaufour Lawrance and manufacturer La Chance, now you can simulate the wonderful feeling of relaxing on a park bench right in the comfort of your own living room.

The Borghese balances the beauty of park trees with the comfort of modern sofa. The metal support structure is built to resemble tree branches, whiel the foam and wood cushions look like modernist take on the forms of leaves and canopies. The entire effect creates a beautiful landscape right in your living room. It doesn't just look like trees either, that was actually inspired by the stone pines of the Villa Borghese in Rome -which is also where it gets its name.

A More Fluid-Looking Fish Bowl

While aquariums can come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, boring old fish bowls tend to come in only a handful of rounded shapes. Psalt Design shows us that doesn't have to be the case though with their clever Bubble Tank that looks like it is made from a fluid drop of water falling off the shelf or table where it was placed.

Each tank is unique as they are all handblown by a skilled artisan, but the bottom line is that they are all dripping with style.

Best of all, the tank doesn't require much shelf or table space as the design is totally stable with only half of the base sitting on the surface where it is placed, so it's perfect for those who don't have much flat space for a fish tank.

An Indoor Garden That Can Light Up Your Room

There's something simply perfect about the combination of plants and light, like the Living Light we featured previously, perhaps because plants require light for the photosynthesis that allows them to survive or maybe because it helps remind us of the natural light outside where we expect to see greenery. Whatever the reason, having a natural element built into your lighting is a great way to bring some of the great outdoors into your living or office space.

Dutch designer Roderick Vos created a brilliant space-saving way to incorporate indoor plants into your decor without taking up any extra space by working the greenery into your lighting. The Bucketlight features two attached aluminum planters suspended in the air with two LED lights situated at the bottom of each pot.

This House Is In A Real Slump -And We Love It

It's a sad truth that one day all buildings, no matter how beautiful or historically important, will end up as rubble. Sometimes perfectly good structures must be torn down to make way for new buildings, but sometimes the elements take their toll either through a natural disaster or just long term dilapidation. But British designer Alex Chinneck has managed to make a building in Cliftonville, England appear to have just given up on itself in his piece entitled "From the Knees of my Nose to the Belly of my Toes."

The wrecked structure looks as though the front brick facade has just slid down off the front of the building as though it wasn't secured properly and gravity merely did its job. The facade stretches down into the fron yard, leaving the top floor exposed to the elements and front door situated on the ground.

The home was abandoned for over eleven years before Chinneck made the installation by removing the front of the structure and replacing it with a new sloped frontage that reveals the decrepit top story. Next year, the building will be replaced to make way for social housing, but in the meanwhile, the local council that owns the property figured there was no harm in turning the structure into a work of art.

Amazingly, the construction took only six weeks to complete, although the artist planned the piece for over a year. All the materials were donated by top construction companies in the area, so that Art Council England, the sponsor of the installation, only had to pay for the labor associated with the build.

Birdhouses That Look Like Airbnb Listings

Good home architecture is always enjoyable, but a person can only live in one home at a time -and many of us could never afford a house quite as fantastic as the ones we dream of. In the meanwhile though, we can enjoy as many fantasy birdhouses as possible.

When it comes to amazing birdhouses though, it's hard to top these 50 delightful designs that were comissioned by Airbnb that depict some of the most fascinating listings on the company's site. The project, an advertising concept that is drastically more artistic, goes by the name of Birdbnb.

The idea works particularly well since birds are known for traveling from one place to another, exploring new places all the time -just like people who use Airbnb's service on a regular basis.

Between the fifty different houses and five different artists, the project features a whole lot of variety, emphasizing not only the different sights a person can enjoy while traveling, but also the many different perspectives travel can bring to someone's life.

The pieces were put on display at the “Tree of Life” in New Orleans’ Audobon Park where they were used to film a commercial for Airbnb. Unfortunately, due to a legal dispute with the company's rival, HomeAway, the Birdbnb website was taken down, but there are still plenty of examples of the artwork visable around the net.

The Purrfect Home For A Serious Cat Lover

It's one thing to love cats, but it takes a whole new level of obsession to convert your entire home into a cat playground. If you're going to go over the top for your felines though, you can at least do it in style.

The clever remodel of this Goleta, CA home shows that living in a cat-oriented home doesn't have to have all they style you'd expect of a crazy cat lady or an animal hoarder. Trillium Enterprises did the rennovation, which cost a whopping $35,000. But, when an animal lover owns 18 cats, it only makes sense that he or she is willing to do whatever it takes to make those pets comfy.

This shrine to the feline has everything you'd want for your kitties, including tunnels, walkways, ledges and even a spiral walkway spinning down a climbing pole. As you might imagine, a house with 18 cats can end up with some pretty full litter boxes, so the design also has an elegent ventilation system to keep things spmelling fresh.

While some people might argue it's all to much for a few furballs, you can be sure that this homeowner has some seriously happy kitties.

The 9 Most Romantic Beds You Could Ever Hope to Sleep in This Valentine’s Day

Women may talk about sleeping in a bed of roses, but while that might be romantic for one night, it’s certainly not something anyone would want to sleep in –especially for years to come. These fantastic beds, on the other hand, are both romantic and functional, making them the ultimate option when it comes to Valentine’s Day sleeping options.

The Floating Bed

If the bed is a rocking, don’t come a knockin’. That’s not just an expression when it comes to this suspended bed designed by Bernstein Architecture. In actuality, this bed wouldn’t really rock your world too much since it is also tethered to the ground for an extra measure of safety, but the look is still rather impressive and chances are it still has a little sway to it.

House Mews

Anyone who hates the idea of having to retreat to the bedroom before they make love, but still enjoys the comfort of having a nice bed under their back will love this clever design by JJ Locations that maximizes the space in a room without sacrificing style. The ceiling above the bed even features a window to provide the mini-bedroom with ample natural light.

Dylan Modern Leather Bed

With its sweeping lines and floating style, this Dylan Modern Leather Bed created by Andrea Lucatello adds graceful and romantic touch to any room. While it looks like the bed would be wobbly and ready to spill, it’s does have four legs, they’re just hidden closer to the middle so no one can see them.
