MM++ Architects' rennovation of the Thao Dien House was meant to add a more contemporary edge to the mediterrean styled structure, but they went above and beyond, turning a simple structure into a minimalistic masterpiece.
With a white exterior contrasted with living accents in greens and purle, the beautiful structure captures the eye and keeps redirecting it to observe all the clean angles and expansive windows. Inside, the stark walls are lit up with the large lights that offer incredible natural lighting throughout the whole home, especially the open plan living/dining/kitchen.
The rennovation allows for a more open feel inside the home, but the most notable change is the vegetated wall that takes up an entire top corner of the home and offers a protective shade for the upstairs terrace. This full-floor room features three impressive glass doors that connect to the deck and pool area. The whole outdoor oasis is lined with vegetation, particularly iconic tropical palm trees.
The stair case is perhaps the most impressive interior addition though, with steel rods holding up thick wooden beams, creating a staircase that seems to be floating.
