The best homes always provide at least some amount of personal space for all residents, but few designers go beyond adding bedrooms and perhaps a playroom for children. Alfonso Architects designed this beautiful lakefront home in Tampa specifically to provide both the two adults and the two kids with their own areas.
The 6,200 square foot residence has totally divided the property between adult socialization and living spaces from children's activity spaces and bedrooms. Guests can enter the home through the east side of the house that is both modern and welcoming with stone walls, a wooden door and metal accents framing the ample windows along the side of the structure.
Inside, the more adult spaces feature light wooden floors contrasted against black accents, white ceilings and clear glass walls. The living room features a double-height ceiling with windows stretching from the ground up, making the massive space feel like it's open to the world -and part of the oak tree grove outside.
Mature oak trees line the edges of the property as the home overlooks White Trout Lake, with all three of the sides bordered by trees fitted with a low line of windows to maximize the natural light in the home. The pool is stretched out on the fourth side of the home and accented with a pool house that matches the materials and style of the main house.
