Sometimes you want to store things so they're out of sight, but sometimes you just want them out of the way while not necessarily out of view. The Pluk Suspended Storage Sphere by Danish design studio FACO is perfect for that second category as it gets things off of your counters and tables, but puts them in an eye-catching sphere.
While the Pluk isn't something you'd want to use to display photos, sculptures or other things you would put on a shelf to display, it actually turns ordinary objects like fruit, toys, and fashion accessories into works of art. As an extra bonus, the design comes in a variety of colors so you can color coordinate not only your living space, but also what you're storing.
You can use the design to store large or small items as long as they are small enough to squeeze through the elastic bands binding the two plastic (or metal or wood) circles and large enough not to slip through the bands while sitting stationary. When you're not using your Pluk, you can even disassemble it and put it away where it will take up practically no space.
If you like the design, you can pre-order one on Kickstarter for about $39 (the page is set up in British Pounds) and receive it in June. If you prefer things to be a little more sturdy, you can order a metal one for approximately $69. For those who like a more natural look, a wooden version is available at $179. If you'd rather save a little money and have access to a 3D printer, you can receive a 3D printer file for the Pluk for $10 and for another $10, they will send you the elastic to weave into your printed storage sphere.
