We talk a lot about summer decorating and even awesome dining/grilling combos, but as of yet we haven't dedicated much time to the humble, but critical patio table. From reading under the summer sun to dining on barbecued treats under the stars, every backyard can use a patio table in the summer.
When it's really warm, it's hard to find anything more refreshing than a nice cool beverage. While entertaining, you can keep your beverage selection cool in an ice chest, a bucket filled with ice, or you can combine your table with an ice box so drinks are right where your guests can enjoy them.
There are tables commercially available with these ice boxes already inside them, but if you already have a table you like, or if you just want to build your own table from scratch, this DIY from Remodelaholic can show you how to make one for yourself. You'll have to adapt the directions for an already existing table, but it's a pretty in depth tutorial that features dozens of pictures, so you should be able to find what you need for altering a table rather than making one for yourself.
Best of all, this tutorial even has directions to create covers for the ice boxes so you aren't stuck with empty boxes in your table when you aren't using the ice chests.
Alternatively, you could try doing something a little more whimsical with the boxes and put soil and flowers in there to make a fun and fancy living centerpiece in your table. You can even buy some extra planters to switch between planters and your ice chests.
However you end up entertaining guests this summer, we hope you have a great time and if things get too hot in your neck of the woods, try to cool off with these pictures of the most gorgeous swimming pools in the world.
