Cantilevering homes could easily be the best way to enjoy a scenic peak and when you build a home at the foot of Japan's Yatsugatake Mountains, you want to make the most of the view. This particular home by Kidosaki Architects Studio is on the ridge of a sloping mountain at the bottom of the range and it offers an incredible views over the striking Japanese landscape. The cantilevered design is perfectly oriented to ensure the best possible view of the mountains throughout the length of the house, which is supported by two thin steel cylinders.
The house is entered through the center of the lengthy side. If you keep heading the same direction, you'll wander down the corridor until you arrive in the incredible living room that features floor-to-ceiling windows along three walls -providing an unbelievable view of the mountain scenery. Attched to the living room, you'll see the expansive, open plan kitchen. If you continue walking towards the other end of the house, you'll find the master bedroom, the master bathroom and the two additional bedrooms.
Each bedroom has its own view with a unique perspective of the mountain range. All of these views can also be enjoyed from the wooden deck surrounding the property, providing a relaxing outdoor space to enjoy the fresh air and scenery.
